The Department of History at Columbia University invites applications for a tenured position to fill the Bernard Hirschhorn Professorship of Urban Studies. The department is seeking a distinguished scholar with a focus on the history of cities in the global south. In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in urban history, the successful candidate will be expected to direct the joint Columbia-Barnard Urban Studies major. The successful candidate should have an effective undergraduate teaching record and administrative experience.
